The story so far

Melbourne,
2021 — 2026

They met over lukewarm dumplings at a friend's housewarming in Northcote. Mei was explaining why brutalist architecture was actually romantic. Soren — three beers deep and genuinely curious — asked her to prove it. She took him to a carpark in Collingwood the next Saturday. He brought coffee.

What started as weekend walks through concrete buildings became something harder to name. Soren cooked Danish food badly and improved slowly. Mei discovered she cared about someone's opinion on curtains. They adopted a cat named Bjorn who respects neither of them.

Five years and one overly sentimental proposal on the Lygon Street tram later, they are getting married among the vines — because Mei likes the architecture of the barrel room, and Soren likes that they pour generous glasses.

The people we love

Standing
with us

With Mei

Lily Chen, her sister and longest-standing ally. Priya Anand, who has listened to every crisis real and imagined since uni. Sarah Okonkwo, who once flew from Perth for a Wednesday birthday dinner. And Hana Kim, who dances first and asks questions never.

With Soren

Erik Lindberg, his brother and the better cook between them. Tom Nguyen, who taught him that Melbourne was more than just the CBD. Alistair Reid, always five minutes late and always forgiven. And Marco Bianchi, who convinced him to stay in Australia in the first place.

With the love and blessing of David & Suzanne Lindberg, and Wei & Jing Chen.

Before you ask

Good
questions

What should I wear?

Smart casual with a vineyard lens. Think linen, warm layers for an October evening, and shoes that can handle grass. The ceremony is outdoors among the vines, so plan for standing on soft ground. Leave the stilettos — bring the style.

Can I bring someone?

Check your invitation. If it says your name and guest, absolutely. If it is just your name, we hope you understand — we are keeping the number close to keep the evening warm.

How do I get there?

Zonzo Estate is about an hour from Melbourne CBD via the Eastern Freeway and Maroondah Highway. There is parking on site. If you would rather not drive — wise, given the wine — we are arranging a shuttle from Richmond that departs at 2pm and returns at midnight.

Where should I stay?

The Yarra Valley has plenty of accommodation. We suggest Balgownie Estate, Yering Gorge Cottages, or Healesville Hotel for something in town. Book early — October is peak season and rooms disappear.

Photos during the ceremony?

We have a photographer we trust completely, so we are asking for an unplugged ceremony. Phones away, eyes on us. After the vows, photograph everything — especially Soren's dad dancing.

When do you need my RSVP?

By 1 September 2026, please. The venue needs final numbers six weeks out, and we need to stop nervously refreshing the responses before then.
